Volunteer Application

Two Ways to Begin the Process

  1. Complete and Submit the Online Application.  Once we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule an interview to explore your volunteer interests and ways to move forward.  Completing the Application takes approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Begin with Coffee with CASA to learn more about volunteer opportunities.  Click “Schedule a Meeting” .  We will contact you to set up a phone conversation or to meet with you over coffee to answer your questions and to decide if being a volunteer with us is do-able and manageable.  If it is, then you can move forward with an application.  Completing the Schedule a Meeting form takes approximately 1 minute.

 Volunteer Application and Information

CASA ICON In 2017, 88 CASA volunteers in Delaware County stood up for 329 children and spent nearly 5,000 hours working on their cases. However, in the past five years, there has been a 160% increase in the number of child abuse and neglect cases being filed in Delaware County. With the increase of children in the welfare system comes the need to provide more advocate volunteers. We currently have more than 400 children waiting for a CASA Volunteer. Take the First Step: (1) Complete a Volunteer Application by clicking below  (2) CASA will review the application and initiate a preliminary background check.  (3) Most applicants will then be invited to an interview. (4) Following the interview, most applicants are invited to training.  (5) Trainees successfully complete the 30 hours of training and related requirements to be sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Online Application

The Online Application takes approximately 30 – 40 minutes to complete.  You must complete the application in one session or your information will not be saved. Once you activate the online link above, you will have the option of downloading and viewing the print version before you begin the online application.

About References:  Three references are required.  We will provide you with the forms or the online link at your interview.  We prefer previous or current employers but you may include close friends or people for or for whom you have been a volunteer.  Your references will be asked to comment on your ability to serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate or a Child Home and School Visitor.  These qualitative accounts of your competencies and character traits are important in assessing if this is the right kind of volunteer work for you. As we read your character references, we hope to discover specific descriptions and examples illustrating your potential and desire to make a difference in this community.
