 Volunteer Application and Information

CASA ICON In 2016, over 65 CASA volunteers in Delaware County stood up for 309 children and spent nearly 5,000 hours working on their cases. However, in the past two years, there has been a 40% increase in the number of child abuse and neglect cases being filed in Delaware County. With the increase of children in the welfare system comes the need to provide more advocate volunteers. We currently have more than 450 children waiting for a CASA Volunteer. Take the First Step: (1) Complete a Volunteer Application by clicking below  (2) CASA will review the application and initiate a preliminary background check.  (3) Most applicants will then be invited to an interview. (4) Following the interview, most applicants are invited to training.  (5) Trainees successfully complete the 30 hours of training and related requirements to be sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Online Application

The Online Application takes approximately 30 – 40 minutes to complete.  You must complete the application in one session or your information will not be saved. Once you activate the online link above, you will have the option of downloading and viewing the print version before you begin the online application.

About References:  Three references are required.  We will provide you with the forms or the online link at your interview.  We prefer previous or current employers but you may include close friends or people for or for whom you have been a volunteer.  Your references will be asked to comment on your ability to serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate or a Child Home and School Visitor.  These qualitative accounts of your competencies and character traits are important in assessing if this is the right kind of volunteer work for you. As we read your character references, we hope to discover specific descriptions and examples illustrating your potential and desire to make a difference in this community.
